We all know that having your 8 hours of beauty sleep can improve your skin and fight off those puffy eyes and dark under eye circles. But every now and then we have those nights when we struggle to fall asleep. Stress, anxiety or just having too much coffee during the day can take away your beauty sleep and cause that “tired look” in the morning.
I for sure don’t want those sleepless nights showing on my face. So how do I fall asleep when I’m stressed out? I simply try to relax. Meditating helps, as well as having a nice relaxing atmosphere – like lighting a scented candle, turning off all lights, listening to calming tunes…Or using a pillow mist.
That’s what I want to talk about today. I’ve been using a pillow mist for months now and I’m so happy I discovered this product. I love that my pillow smells so nice and that feeling is just so relaxing.
It’s like being tucked in fresh clean sheets and we all know how good that feels!
After finishing up a bottle of Avon’s pillow mist I decided to make my own mixture instead of buying another one. I wanted to breathe in natural ingredients instead of the chemicals listed in that product. So after doing a little research I found the perfect oils that would work for my pillow mist.
Lavender oil: a relaxing scent that provides a better, calmer sleep. Helps with anxiety, restlessness, insomnia, irritability and is proven to reduce stress.
Chamomile oil: a calming scent that brings peace and tranquility. Just like chamomile tea, it reduces irritability, anxiety and tension.
So, get your essential oils and make your own pillow mist! Before doing this, make sure that your pillow isn’t the cause of your sleepless nights and replace it with a good quality one.
You will need:
If you have a bigger spray bottle, adjust the measurements according to its size.
Fill up a clean spray bottle with ¼ of water, add 10 drops of lavender oil and 5 drops of chamomile oil. Place the cap, shake & spray!
Optional: decorate! Put a label sticker or draw a sign on your bottle.
Spray this mist on your pillow and sheets before you go to sleep and have a good relaxed night.
